THE MYTH OF THE KAMADO COOKER FROM ENSENADA

 

I RESEARCHED AND STUDIED BBQ COOKERS, CERAMIC COOKERS, STEEL COOKERS, AND OTHER TYPES OF HOMEMADE AND PROFESSIONAL BBQ DEVICES, BEFORE I DECIDED TO PURCHASE A KAMADO COOKER IN THE SUMMER OF 2000.

 

 I PURCHASED THE UNIT, A FEW DELAYS AND NON RETURNED CALLS DID NOT SET OFF ANY ALARMS AT THE TIME.

 

IF I ONLY KNEW THEN WHAT I KNOW NOW,

 

 

I WOULD HAVE NEVER PURCHASED THE KAMADO.

 

BUT I BOUGHT AND DRANK THE KOOL AID. I FIGURED THEY WERE TRULY SO BUSY SELLING AND SERVICING SUCH A GREAT PRODUCT THAT SOME PART OF THE BUSINESS WAS NOT GIVEN AS MUCH ATTENTION. CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS THIS PART OF THE BUSINESS.

 

 

 

HOW WRONG I WAS.

 

A TRULY MAGNIFICENT MISTAKE. ONLY SECOND TO THE HINDENBURG.

 

"NOTE TO SELF, WHEN A COMPANY DOES NOT ANSWER CUSTOMER SERVICE CALLS OR ISSUES FROM DAY ONE, GET A REFUND QUICK, RETURN THE PRODUCT, NO MATTER HOW SHINY AND COOL IT MAY SEEM"

 

OK, NOW TO THE GOOD STUFF.

 

I BOUGHT THE KAMADO, PAID ALL OF THE FEES, TRICKS, AND FREIGHT CHARGES.

 

TOOK POSSESSION OF THE UNIT. PERFORMED NOT ONE LOW AND SLOW COOK TO BREAK IN THE UNIT, BUT THREE LOW AND SLOW BREAK IN COOKS.

 

SO I AM ON MY WAY TO BBQ HEAVEN. I USE THE UNIT AND NOTICE SOME HAIRLINE CRACKS AFTER A FEW MONTHS; I MENTION THIS TO THE JOHNSON FAMILY. BUT, HEY I HAVE A LIFETIME WARRANTY, WHATS TO WORRY.

 

THEY DISMISS THEM AS JUST SUPERFICIAL. THE KAMADO IS STILL WORKING AND COOKING. THEN AFTER A COUPLE OF YEARS, I NOTICE THE CRACKS ARE GETTING LARGER. I INQUIRE ABOUT A WARRANTY, AND THE TILES ARE FALLING OFF.

 

RICHARD JOHNSON REPLY IS FOR ME TO "WORK WITH ME HERE" AND FOR ME TO GLUE THE TILES BACK ON THE KAMADO. SORRY, NOT THE ANSWER I AM LOOKING FOR, I EXPECT A REPLACEMENT UNIT, AS I BELIEVE I MAY HAVE A DEFECTIVE UNIT. AT THAT POINT EMAIL AND OR PHONE CALLS STOPPED. THE JOHNSONS HAVE RUN A CON ON ANOTHER KAMADO OWNER. THE LIFETIME WARRANTY IS NON EXISTENT, AND NOT THERE TO BE UTILIZED BY THE PURCHASER.

 

 

 

THEN THEY PACK UP AND MOVE TO INDONESIA. A FEW YEARS GO BY, I TALK TO A FEW OTHER KAMADO OWNERS ACROSS THE COUNTRY AND THEY ARE HAVING PROBLEMS AS WELL. NO ANSWER FROM THE JOHNSONS.

 

THEN I SEE THAT THEY HAVE MOVED TO ENSENADA, MEXICO. SO I START TO SEE A PATTERN OF DECIET AND LIES. THEY ARE TRULY RUNNING A GRIFT, FROM COUNTRY TO COUNTRY AND ON ONE KAMADO OWNER AFTER ANOTHER.

 

 

 

THE JOHNSONS ARE LUCKY, THEY HAVE A FEW THAT SING THEIR PRAISES. ONE CAN ONLY SPECULATE AT WHAT COST THESE PARTIES ARE SO HAPPY WITH THEIR KAMADOS. AND IF THEIR UNITS ARE NOT DEFECTIVE AND THEY HAVE THE GOOD UNITS, THEN THAT IS EVEN MORE ON POINT WHY KAMADO SHOULD REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE UNITS OF A FEW.

 

SOME KAMADO OWNERS ARE CONTENT TO STAND BY AND LET THIS JOHNSON GROUP STEAL FROM THEM AND THEIR CHILDREN. I AM NOT, I AM VOCAL, I AM DETERMINED, I AM GOING TO GET SATISFACTION.
